Sunsilk Perfect Straight Shampoo and Conditioner Review, Before, Through and After Pictures

I don't think I had ever been SO excited to try a product. Straight hair from shampoo and conditioner? *Expectant dreamy eyes* When Sunsilk launched the Perfect Straight range with Yuko Yamashita, there  was so much hype around. You have to believe me if I say I have treasured and looked at these precious plastic bottles that have so much claim scribbled on them.

Why so, you ask? Well for starters, I love frizz free straight hair. Secondly, I don't like to fry my hair. *Almost five weeks ago, I packed my hair dryer and hair straightener in foam and have hid them somewhere in the back of my cupboard. They won't see light until unless there is an absolute emergency* 

Now lets totally move on to the claims and the reviews and the before and afters!

What does Sunsilk claim? 

There is a magic moment between wet & dry hair when your hair looks perfectly straight and beautifully aligned. But as it dries, it starts to puff up and lose shape. Sunsilk expert Yuko Yamashita has co-created Sunsilk Perfect Straight, the ideal shampoo for straight hair every day. Its breakthrough Straight-Lock technology to actively control and hold every strand perfectly aligned as it dries. It penetrates deep within the hair fibre, reducing frizz and straightening strands, keeping them fully aligned as they dry*. Experience unbeatably straight hair that is shiny, smooth and gorgeous, right from the shower.

The claims remain the same on the packs with the following details:

The shampoo says, 

"When used with Perfect Straight conditioner right from the shower"

and the conditioner says,

"When used with the Perfect Straight shampoo right from the shower"

Alrighty!

It costs Rs.110/- for 180 ml of the shampoo and Rs.56/- for 90 ml and Rs. 64/- for 90 ml of the conditioner. 

Ingredient list: 

The shampoo is a super pretty pearly pink color and is runny and comes in a flip open cap. Its has a nice sheen and smells fruity.

The conditioner is bright white and comes in a flip open tube, and is slightly runnier than the other conditioner I have tried till date. You've got to me careful squeezing it out of the tube, its easy to pour out more.

The shampoo lathers well and gives a good clean. I left the conditioner on for three minutes. *There is no time mentioned on the tube* 

I was peeping into the mirror all through the shower hoping to see a miracle :P Not much then ;) Ten minutes after out of the shower, my hair was a soft, curly mess. All I could think was, "Wow!"

 I have never had curly hair all my life and boy, it looks pretty darn good on me.

*Note to self: Start saving up for a curling iron*

After another thirty minutes, the curls had made way to waves.There was a little frizz which went away with more time :D 

As hours passed by, my hair got straighter. Not iron straight, but yes, definitely a lot lesser frizz and straighter hair. 

And this is the final picture, after my hair dried completely, and no. There is still no product on it :)

The first picture is my day 2 hair. The middle picture is the curly mess ^_^ The last one, excuse the flash and lighting, is after my hair dried completely. Notice how the waves at the end are straighter with an overall texture all through :)

Here is what I love and what I don't!

It takes frizz away. 

Does what it claims.It does straighten hair. Don't expect it to give you a flat iron or blow dry finish, but yes. It will definitely make your hair straighter and smoother. For me, the waves are straight now and 'less wavy' at the ends, with minimum frizz. 

Its economical.

Smells yum and luxury for me. Its like an indulgence.

Cleans and moisturizes hair well. I didn't experience any dryness as such.

What I don't love:

The ingredients. I wonder how the ingredients will fare in the long run. I mean, I know. Its hair and its already dead :P Still, I hope it doesn't do any long term damage. I have used thrice till date and its been pretty darn good.

Do I recommend the product?

Hell yea! If you are looking for decent straight hair with no heat and frizz free finish, go for it. Its fun :) You'll not regret ;)
