Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash review

How to be brave...
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow.....

I am so addicted to this amazing song by Christina Perri. I love her voice, so beautiful ^_^ And I can modulate my voice like her, a little, I think :P So love her more ^_^

Anyho, lets move to the review, shall we? From the totally unrelated intro to the review of the very popular, very loved, Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash :)

Product: Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash
Brand: Himalaya Herbals
Cost: Rs.80/- Bigger and smaller variants available.
Quantity: 120 ml (It was on offer, 20% extra: So that is 100 + 20 ml)

What does the company claim?
"A soap free, herbal formulation that gently removes impurities and prevents pimples. Neem, well-known for its antibacterial properties, kills problem-causing bacteria, and Turmeric, effectively controls acne and pimples. Use regularly for clear, soft and pimple-free skin"

Directions: Moisten face and neck; apply a small amount of Purifying Neem Face Wash and gently work up a lather using a circular motion. Wash off and pat dry. Use twice daily. Follow with Himalaya Face Moisturising Lotion. Use Himalaya Purifying Neem Pack once a week to rejuvenate and revitalize your skin.

Each gram contains: Nimba(Azadirachta indica)*50 mg, Haridra(Curcuma longa)*5 mg

Inactives: Phenoxyethanol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone *PHEW!! Life was easy before Organic Chemistry came into picture >.<*

Natural herbal formulations tend to change colour over time. However, the product efficacy remains unchanged.
OK, Himalaya, noted :) :P

It is suitable for all skin types.

The face wash comes in a green flip open tube . The tube itself is transparent, you can peek in through sides to see how much product is left .  The cap is sturdy and involves a lil effort in opening :P If you 've long nails, be careful. And even after being dropped to ground several times by Ms.ButterFingers, it has survived and is surviving with zero cracks. Classic Himalaya packaging .

Its a cool green gel and smells medicinal - I mean sorta neem-ish. A sniff of it gives you a confidence that it might work :P *No, its not weird to feel so. I am with you :)*

The amount shown above is enough to wash my entire face, remove remnants of sunblock, moisturizer and kohl. It doesn't dry my skin, I am Ms.Oily FYI. Also, two-three drops of water will give a decent lather and smells fresh ^_^
This has been my regular face wash from two years. No matter how much I experiment with other facewashes, I find myself going back to this baby. We all trust Himalaya, don't we? :)

So how true is the 'Prevents Pimples' claim?
Yes it does, if you have mild to moderate acne. If you break out during that time of the month, or get lil pesky pimples that can be easily concealed by just foundation, then this product is for you. Follow up with directions and say hello to clear skin. But do remember, if you have severe acne and break out frequently resulting in craters on your pretty face, please consult a derma .  Doctors are there for a reason .  I have learnt it the hard way *Sigh* *More on that sometime later*

Any complaints? Well not really, except for the fragrance. but then I am not sure of it. Some days I don't like it, some days its a nice ayurvedic-ish smell. I do find a lot of people digging it :D

Thus my two cents on this amazing face wash .  I think I am the last one alive to review it :P

Have you used this? Loved it? Loathed? Lemme know! :)

Until next time,

Love,
Namita
