That morning when she woke up, she felt no pain. A void nonetheless, but not painful. Not anymore. She stretched and soaked the moments in. "Is it true? Is it really happening?", she was surprised. She tried reminding herself of the tragedy in air-quotes, nope. Not at all. She got off her bed and opened the door to her balcony and walked out. The warmth from the sun was warming the cold. And the cold passed through her as it bid the final good bye. She pulled her cardigan closer. She still liked the chill though, it made her understand the warmth better.
She got into the shower, let the water run through her hair, her body. Her soul. And she kept trying to feel the hurt, the sadness and the disappointment. The cut in her soul. Not a trace of it.
Astonished, she came out towel clad, and looked at her reflection in the mirror. A healthy body in all its grace. She couldn't help notice the twinkle in that pair of eyes. "Hey, nice to meet you again", she smiled. The pair of eyes twinkled back.
Slipping into her favorite dress, she was humming her favorite song. She made her hair. Long, soft waves flirted with her cheeks. Deep kohl rimmed eyes showed her the blush on her cheeks. "Hi, you! Long time!", she gushed.
Stilettos on her feet, she walked out. The world under her feet, she was happy today. The void was still there, and this time, it was powerless.
She knew it.

PS: Hello from the place where it rains all the time and effin' doesn't stop and frizzes the crap out of my hair and annoys the hell out of me. But the only nice thing is my skin is behaving and I am having a nice glow, ya know ;) You can't have it all, eh? -_- I was digging through my drafts and found this piece written long ago, thought I'll post it. Hope you guys like it. I shall now go back to the world of Computer Networks and try making sense out of random words strung together, and you guys start a fantastic weekend.
Let me know how you liked it :)
PPS: TAKE ME BACK TO BANGALORE! BUHUUU!!
PPPS: Life isn't that bad, actually. I get to spend time with my bestie, people think we are lesbians. You do the math.
