*This is for all of you that wanted the next part of Tuned*
It was drizzling when her phone lit up with his name. "I hope he knows this is how my heart reacts when its him", she told herself. She spent a couple of seconds looking at his name lighting her up, and it then hit her to answer the call.
"Hey" "Hey you! What took you so long to respond to the call? Busy yea?" "Err no, the phone was in the other room, sup?" "Well, could we possibly meet this evening? Shall I pick you up at 6?" "Yea, sure " "Well see you at 6 then, bye"
They hung up five seconds later, right after hearing each other sigh, 'cuz the sigh was the one other thing that bound them, a mirror to the tumultuous insides.
She didn't want to doll up, she didn't know how the day would end. She knew it wouldn't matter to him - he had seen her in sweats, hair tied up and tears streaming down her face, coloring her cheeks black with the mascara and smudged kohl. And he had wiped it away then, color and all.
She put on her favorite pair of jeans and threw a top over. Her hair fell around framing her face - what better way to hide tears in case they made their way out of her watchful eyes?
She carefully lined her eyes though, she had always caught him looking deep into her eyes, and she had felt like they were doors to her soul and he was always seeing right into it.
She put on a little pink on her lips, "Oh well, you never know", she almost smiled when her brain yelled at her, "Don't get your hopes on. I am not ready to be screwed up, all over again".
By the time the heels adorned her feet, he was by her door.
"You look beautiful, maam", he smiled. "You have told this to me when I have had a running nose too, mister", she faked annoyance.
"Wasn't lying, I swear".
"Is he looking any extra happy today?", she wondered, "or is it all in my head?"
"Where are you lost lady? Ice cream here or university?", he tapped her cheek.
"University", she smiled and hoped to Lord that her cheek didn't leak the color on to his fingers.
After an hour of walk through the wet roads, a million jokes and stolen glances, the Sun was slowly making his way through the clouds. The cold chill in the air made her shiver, "Darn wrong day to let go of my cardigan", and his arms held her tight by her waist, taking her by shock.
"Better?", he looked in her eyes, straight into her soul.
A big question mark filled her face - was it panic in her eyes? Or sadness? Before she could know and frame a sentence in her head, he had pulled the both of them into the side road.
"I have made my decision. I don't know if it's right, or it's wrong. The ways of the world don't appeal to me anymore. I don't understand them at all, they are just too simple. You are my right. You are my world. I have fallen for you, and fallen hard. You know it too. I am giving you my heart - broken and tattered. I am willing to fix back yours, I know it's in more pieces. I love you, and you know it."
He turned her around and pulled her closer, smiling at her panic ridden face.
"It's okay now, it's all fine. We are okay, come here already"
He wiped the tears that were beginning to form in her carefully kohled eyes.
One hand in her hair, and the other grazing her cheek, he kissed her. He kissed her for a full minute. And then another.
She let herself sink into his arms, all of her weight held in his strong strength.
"I love you too, mister. And I..", she couldn't complete her sentence 'cuz his lips wouldn't let her.
The Sun decided to complete her words that evening.
And when that night he walked her home, she looked in his eyes, to fall in love all over again. And he caught her this time, safe in his arms, never to put her down again.
And they sat under the same sky, gazing at the stars, thanking their own stars for the single wish that came true.
That night, she found the twinkle of her eye shine back at her in his eye.
And that night, his guitar was beside him, fine tuned.
All after several hours.
