Dear Mr.Summer, Bite Me! 8) Part A!

Hello my Pumpkins! :*

I recently stumbled upon a Bob Marley quote. Damn I love that guy's words ^_^ So full of wisdom.

♥ He’s not perfect. You aren’t either, and the two of you will never be perfect. But if he can make you laugh at least once, causes you to think twice, and if he admits to being human and making mistakes, hold onto him and give him the most you can. He isn’t going to quote poetry, he’s not thinking about you every moment, but he will give you a part of him that he knows you could break. Don’t hurt him, don’t change him, and don’t expect for more than he can give. Don’t analyze. Smile when he makes you happy, yell when he makes you mad, and miss him when he’s not there. Love hard when there is love to be had. Because perfect guys don’t exist, but there’s always one guy that is perfect for you

How very beautiful ^_^ My guy is on a trip and I am missing him so much :| I am an idiot, first order idiot. When he is around, I fight with him :D Piss him off, offend and make sure he tears his hair. And when he is not around, I miss him, freakin' miss him >.< Argh! :@ The quote above has put in some sense in me, and yes, I love my gummybear all the way more *if that is possible* OK now temme I am very cute :* :D

LOL OKAY! Now moving on to title of the post, I can't believe I am posting about taking care of yourself in summer :o First, I hate summers >.< HATE! Second, I myself was hopeless about finding any effective cure to my own summer troubles. Third, I finally, yes finally listened to mom and granny and implemented their home remedies. *DOESN'T roll eyes* After Googling the whole of Cyber World *I did okay?* and posting my questions on hundreds of forums, I have triumphantly found all the solutions 8) *Trumpets and Bugles, with my epic song playing in the background. Ummm which song? Enrique is glooomy, Taylor's jingles sound the same....OK ssh! I am getting of topic *face palm**
Here, lemme enlighten you all *Halo over head* :D All the cures work, hand on heart  *You might have read some tips on many other websites, or you might already know. I am gonna list them nonetheless, let it be a reminder :)*

Before I start listing, lemme state my self made rules 8)

Rule 1: DO NOT touch your skin unnecessarily. NO. The only time you are allowed to touch your skin is when you wash your face, apply the gooey stinky stuff that are mentioned below, or if you apply make up. I have a habit of touching my chin and cheeks often. Like this.

Seems like it doesn't do any good >.< I have been breaking out a LOT in my chin region, and there is a huge joint family of white heads right below my lips. I said Hi! to the Man of that House this morning. *Effing gross*
So yes, do not touch your skin when there is no need to.

Rule 2: Picking on acne/boils is a complete no no. Its very tempting to pull that skin apart and enjoy that sadistic happiness, but don't :| Doing so will push the infection further in, slow down the healing process. Not to mention all the bacteria on your fingers, nails EEWW!!

Rule 3: Drink.A.Lot.Of.Water. Yes. Even if you don't feel a thirst, drink water. Water has many many benefits.

  • It detoxifies you. Implies, skin glows :)
  • Bowel movements will be easier.
  • Dehydration doesn't occur. The more you sweat, the more is the water loss.

So drink lots of water. Do not stick with minimum/maximum quantity. Keep a cute bottle of water, DRINK it, refill it. I know its a very hard job to walk out 28.56 steps, reach the cooler, press that button and fill water, walk back 28.56 steps, but baby, do it :) You'll thank me later.

PS: Ignore the ugly guy, read the uses :P

Rule 4: Steam. Allow the water vapor to reach your skin. This is the best way to get rid of white heads. Steam and follow up with gentle scrub. Be sure to cleanse thoroughly though. You don't want to infect :P

Pretty girl know? Flawless skin know? Yes, she steams :D

*A big round of applause please :) Now let us welcome the most awaited part of the World Wide Web, The Tips and Tricks :) *

How to get rid of already present pesky pimples?
Personally I have stopped using any chemical  for face. No face washes, toners, pimple curing ointments and gels and serums and WasteOfHardEarnedPocketMoneys.

I am in two minds over what to wear when I go out though. Now that I resemble a zombie, people are asking me WTF is wrong with my skin :o I have gotten too conscious to walk around with naked skin :P So yes, I might dab on some BB Cream/tinted moisturizer for concealing purposes. Other than that, just kohl and plain, unscented lip balm. No eye liners, no lip glosses.

So how to clear the pimples off? 8)

My current face wash : A spoon of curd + a spoon of besan (gram flour) + 4-5 drops of lemon juice. Make it into a paste like consistency. It is an excellent scrub too :) Wash face with plain water (use warm water for better results). Spread a thin layer of the mixture. A lil runny consistency will make it easier to scrub. So yes, spreading a thin layer will help in adhering the gooey thingie better. Layer on more, and let it sit there for 10-15 minutes. While it works, you can do something productive, or relax and pamper yourself. I say this because this face wash can double up as face pack too :) So more the time you let it sit on your face, the merrier. After it has semi dried, splash on a lil water to wet it and scrub your skin. Be very gentle, you don't want to burst open any nasty pimples. *Oouuchh!!* A lil lemon flavor might seep into your mouth, just rinse it off :P Hehe :D The best part of this face wash is that it clarifies the skin. I mean it makes the non-pimpled parts look very clear and flawless :) That way, its easier for spot treatment. Also, skin gets incredibly soft. DONT TOUCH!

To dry the monsters faster: Apply lemon juice. I swear by this remedy. It stings horribly if it gets into eyes, or on cuts, so be careful. If you are too sensitive to lemon, mix in equal quantities of rose water. Tada! Lemon juice is a natural bleach. It fades away scars SUPER fast, removes tan and stops any InTheFormationStagePimples. Lemon is the most wonderful creation of the Lord Almighty ^_^

Dry skinned homo sapiens can use honey too. Though the results aren't as instant and noticable as lemon juice, you'll still get what you want.

Oh and oil mines like me, please follow up with honey after lemon juice treatment. It is a natural moisturizer and your skin needs it after citric acid wash :P *OK don't freak out now :P*

To soothen the skin: Make a paste of sandalwood powder + rose water/plain water. Apply on the affected areas only. The powder that I am currently using isn't of much help, so I am switching to the sandalwood granny uses. Though it looks like a harmless useless red colored paste, its working like a charm :) So yes, trust grannies :P

You can also dab on some tea tree oil on the pimples. I am allergic to it so I don't use. You might want to patch test before you use it regularly. I broke out real bad with it. Hence the advice. The commercially available tea tree oil is very concentrated, you might want to dilute it. Pour 2-3 drops on a cotton ball and dab it on the pimples.

My dear Oil Mines, make best friends with Multan mitti (Fuller's Earth) : Apply this face pack (multan mitti + rosewater/plainwater/honey) for 20 minutes and wash off with luke warm water. It absorbs excess oils and calms down the pissed off sebum glands. *Ssh, I have told my skin that I love it. Don't let it know that I complained*

For removal of tan:

Besan + powdered rice + water: Yes. A handful of rice can be ground in the mixer, just enough to feel the grittyness. Mix it with besan and keep in an airtight container. For every usage, just take the required quantity, add water and scrub. This can be used on face too. Make sure to adjust the grit level :P

Potato slices: Just keep them on tanned areas and under eye too if you have dark circles. It stinks, but works. Be regular with the usage.

Tomato Juice: This works like lemon juice and doesn't sting as bad as lemon :D YAY!

These are the tips I am following religiously from past two days. All the monsters have gone small in size. Also, do not let any face pack sit there after it has dried completely. It dries the skin.

This is my skin care guide until I get rid of pimples and scars. I'll next post about hair care, workout, diet etc. :) For now, I'll go offline and mug up for tomorrow's test >.< *Sigh*

So Pumpkins, lemme know what you do to battle these skin problems in summer 8) All tips are heartily welcome ^_^
