When the world celebrates LOVE!

Hello my Cotton Candies! :)

Its a lovely Saturday evening and I am here starving :o Not by choice though *Alright, by choice! Its Chaturthi! You know people starve from morning till night, look at the moon and then have food? Not Karva Chauth, that is for hubby's well being, which I needn't do now *ahem* ;) But this is to butter Lord Ganesha, once a month! *Aint he just so cute? :* * I am to eat nothing till 9:30 PM and Weeeeeee I am hungry >.< Moon, why you no show on sky fast fast? Me hungry :o*
SO me thought to blog 8) It distracts me for a while, and also I'll fulfill my promise I made in my previous post! :D

Valentine's Day on February 14th! *That its my birth day excites me more :D*

Saint Valentine's Day, commonly shortened to Valentine's Day, is a holiday observed on February 14 honoring one or more early Christian martyrs named Saint Valentine. It is traditionally a day on which lovers express their love for each other by presenting flowers, offeringconfectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as "valentines").The day first became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished. It was first established by Pope Gelasius I in 496 AD, and was later deleted from the General Roman Calendar of saints in 1969 by Pope Paul VI.
Modern Valentine's Day symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten valentines have given way to mass-producedgreeting cards.[4]
(Thanks again, Jimmy Wales ;))

How many of you believe in celebrating love once a year? I don't believe! Love is a feeling that is to be celebrated every day, every moment. Its not like once in a year you wake up and realize you are in love and BAM! There comes an expensive greeting card :@ Well I understand life is not just a bunch of roses and dates everyday but hey! Express it everyday and improve your relationship. OKAY fine! Stop glaring at me now :P I know that many Cupid-struck-puppies are gonna hate me for this, but bite me!
The only soothing fact about this day is at least then people take some time out for the love of their life, spend some quality moments together and cherish those moments. Everywhere I see, red roses, teddy bears, chocolates and all such cutesy items scream :D Haha, makes me feel cheesy though ;)
So while me was discussing this in college, one of my friends thatz single goes like, "Yaa right! It just rubs in my face that I am single >.< Whatz with all corny one liners and I-Am-So-In-Love displays? I'll rather pamper myself and love myself 8) Provided our most respected college doesn't dump any more assignments :|" .
So sweeties that are single, this post is for you :) And the ones that are in a relationship, you already might have planned for the day, so nothing for you :P
1. Respect your 'Single' status. Don't lose heart when people mull over it, or when you see couple being all mushy. Its your choice, no matter why it is. You needn't tell the whole world about why you want to be what you are :) I am mentioning this because I have seen a whole lot of people that fret about being single. Dont pull a Monica ;)
2. Pamper yourself. Buy chocolates for yourself. Indulge in a spa. Get a new mani pedi! You needn't always have a man in life to make you understand how precious you are :) Go shopping! Splurge! And don't be guilty about it.

3. Have a girls' nightout! What can be more fun?! You can dress the way you want, try new quirky makeup/clothes, and not be conscious about it :)

4.Tell your family/friends that you love them, and show it you do. No no, just don't walk right to your mom, hug and say you love her :P If she ain't used to it, you might freak her out. Well it depends on how it works. In my family, there is no much Express Love gestures. If I went to mom and said I love her, she will check my temperature and be concerned about my mental health :P
I don't mean to say that we don't love each other, its just we are not used to being that way! :D LOL! Just imagining my mom's/dad's reaction is making me laugh here as I type :P

5. Invest in some self love posters, and stick them in your room :) Some of you might be already having them, the ones that don't, please give a try :) There is no better morning than to wake up looking at a poster with an adorable cartoon asking you to go get the world! 8)

6. Flush the wrong people off your life. Erase all the past memories that break you. Remember, when you love yourself, you are your own best friend. Will you like to be with a person who constantly reminds you of all the gloomy events that has happened to you? Think about it :)

7. Understand yourself better. Get to know what makes you happy. You are the person with whom you spend maximum time of your life with, so be honest and comfortable with yourself. Forgive yourself :)

I would love it if you guys can add your precious comments on how you would spend your day, single :)

And guys, I won my first giveaway today! :D *YAYEEEEEEE* Lovely Rids of Sugar,Spice and all Dat's NICE had hosted the GlossyBox India giveaway, and me won it 8) 8) Whoa! C.A.N.T wait for my March edition! :* Thank you so much :) :)
